ASAVA Accreditation

Australian Small Animal Veterinary Association (ASAVA) Accreditation is an assurance of quality veterinary care. The goal of the Hospital Accreditation Scheme is to “encourage and assist companion animal practices to achieve the highest levels of quality health care and practice management procedures while practicing in innovative or ‘state of the art’ hospital facilities”.

The ASAVA Hospital Accreditation Scheme requires of its members that they not only maintain and uphold the uncompromisingly high standards set for them by the scheme but they should continually assess and wherever necessary upgrade and strive to improve their standards throughout the period of accreditation.

ASAVA Accredited Hospitals stand as a benchmark to which small animal practitioners may turn for inspiration when assessing their own facilities and procedures.

There are only 3 ASAVA accredited hospitals in the whole of New South Wales and only one of 30 Australia wide!

AVA/Pfizer Practices of Excellence in Customer Service Award

The AVA/Pfizer Practices of Excellence in Customer Service award acknowledges excellence and encourages veterinary practices Australia-wide to further improve their customer service techniques and overall practice management.

The annual award was established in 2001 and has been received by 30 hospitals across the country.

The judging is conducted by a panel of veterinarians and industry representatives and examines the special features of the practice’s customer service processes and how it differentiates itself from other clinics.

East Port Veterinary Hospital had to submit details of its practices, its protocols and cases of animals treated, and was visited by a national inspector.
