East Port Veterinary Hospital Updates

We’ve had a fair bit happening here at East Port recently so thought we’d take this opportunity to fill you in!!!

Eddie Spaghetti – National Runner Up

The long awaited announcement of the year – Eddie Spaghetti, did in fact, come National Runner Up in the Dermcare Clinic Cat of the Year competition!!!! We narrowly missed out on the fabulous patient warming system to some cool cat north of the border!

We have been awaiting our scrub tops for a photo opportunity with Eddie along with his sash and trophy. 50 takes later and we managed to get a couple of photos where he wasn’t scowling!

We also wanted to thank everyone who placed a vote for Eddie, read his story and shared our hopes with their friends and family! We were so close to securing that patient warmer – there’s only one up from here right!!!

 

Newest addition to the East Port Kids Club

Nurse Amie and husband Marty, welcomed their beautiful baby boy, Riley Alan, into the world on the 30th July 2017. Weighing a healthy 3.41kg, everyone is settling in well at home. We finally got a blue one! Photo on Facebook!

 

RSPCA Cupcake Day 2017

We celebrated RSPCA Cupcake Day on Monday 21st August 2017 – it’s one of our favourite days of the year! We would like to thank every one who supported our fundraising efforts again this year, by either making a donation, or buying some of our delicious cupcakes. We raised a massive $850.00 for the Port Macquarie shelter – our biggest effort for Cupcake Day to date! A huge thank you to our team, and their families, for baking up a storm. Special mention must go to baking queen Belle, who baked and decorated 300 cupcakes. We’re pretty awesome and the cupcakes were divine!!!

 

 

Grooming – we are finally up and running again!

We are happy to announce that our grooming service is back up and running in its entirety. We have a beautiful refreshed grooming area with brand new equipment! And just in time for the warmer Spring weather! For those clients who are unaware, we did have a fire which damaged our courtyard in April. This area housed most of our grooming equipment including our hydrobath, which meant for 4 months, we have been unable to offer our full grooming services.

If you’d like to make a booking for a grooming appointment, please give us a call on 6583 5677. Jess is currently working Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and we are looking forward to Alice’s return on Fridays this month. Please have a chat to Jess before your appointment

if you have any special grooming requirements. Coming into the warmer months, we are heavily booked in advance, so to avoid disappointment, call now to make a booking on 6583 5677.

 

Pre-booked Appointments

As most of our clients are aware, we have been operating on a pre-booking system for the past 3 years, which means we no longer send reminders via good old snail mail. We pre-book your next due appointment into our schedule, and a week before the appointment is due, we either send you an SMS, email or phone you to advise of the appointment details.

These appointments are not set in stone, and can be confirmed, rescheduled or cancelled at any time. Our job is to advise you of what’s due for our patients (your pets) and allow you to make an informed decision.

It’s very easy to confirm your appointment by replying to the SMS or email we’ve sent you. You will also receive a reminder 24 hours prior to your appointment – this is purely a courtesy reminder, implemented  by us, based on feedback from clients. There’s no need to reply to this unless there are any changes to make to your appt.

If you cannot make the appointment, or do not wish to commit to this appointment, we would really appreciate you letting us know, so we can open this appointment up for another client/patient.

Computer / I.T. Issues

Over the past few weeks, we have been experiencing some computer issues! It’s been quite frustrating and we have been working around these as best we can. We are hopeful these issues will be resolved shortly.

We would like to apologise to our clients for any reminders/communication you may have received at inconvenient times, regarding your upcoming appointments. Unfortunately the time on our server has been incorrect at numerous times over this period, and it has been automatically sending these alerts. Again, we apologise for any inconvenience.
