Kursty grew up surrounded by all sorts of animals, with a keen love of the collie rough’s her family bred & showed.
Kursty began nursing on the central coast back in 2006 when she started her Certificate II in Animal Studies and volunteered at the vet clinic her family had been using since she was a child. After volunteering for a few months she got paid employment as an animal attendant working her way up to senior veterinary nurse after completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2008, with a distinction in surgical & patient nursing. In 2011 she was up for a new challenge and spent 2 years working in an overnight animal emergency centre, before moving to sunny Port Macquarie in early 2014.
In her spare time she loves taking her one eyed wonder dog Winnie for walks with her partner Peter, relaxing with a good book or movie.
Along with Winnie, she owns 2 cats Rhiana & Ducky and recently adopted stray kitten Gumboot when he was brought into the clinic not long after she started with us.
